50,000 Visitors!! And a PRIZE DRAW!

Oh yeah baby, 50,000 hits and counting! The silly (and broken) counter at the bottom of the page is a bit off...like so much else in the world...but I have officially tallied 50,000 hits as of today! Hoody-hoo!

So, I am having a prize draw, like I have seen so many other more popular, and more successful, blogs do. Hey, I am small and I know it, but I am cool with being a small corner of the hobby.

However, due to the generosity of Richard of Too Fat Lardies, we have a really cool prize. Richard has kindly offered one copy of a pdf version of any TFL rules or rule supplements which is currently released and available through their webstore located at the link above.

There are of course a few caveats. In order to qualify for the prize draw one must complete the following:

1) Be a follower of this blog. So, get cracking and click the proper link up there on the left, yeah that one...just click it...go ahead.

2) Leave a comment on this blog, containing a proper greeting (because we like greetings) AND also the name of the very first product published by Too Fat Lardies. This last part might seem daunting, but you can research it at various sites, including the TFL forum. HINT: It is an earlier version of one of the items shown below.

3) Name the rules or rule supplement (in pdf or tablet form only) that you would like to receive as your prize, should you win.

Contest ends at 11:59pm PST on Monday 26 May 2014. Winner will be randomly determined. Only one entry per participant and to avoid any accusations of favoritism, no members of the Little Generals Club of Fresno, California, may win the prize.

So, you've gone through the list? Now, find out which was the first published product by Too Fat Lardies and comment below. Which of the TFL products do YOU want should you be the lucky winner? Are you already a Lardy and play their games, which ones?

Good luck to all those who enter.

DON'T FORGET TO MENTION THE FIRST PUBLICATION BY TOO FAT LARDIES in your comment.....like several of you have failed to do. Update your comments, please, so you don't lose out due to the letter of the law.

  2. Hello Justin, congratulations on the success of your blog! I believe the first TFL game was LFS, am I right? If I should be so lucky as to win, I would like a copy of They Couldn´t Hit an Elephant. Thanks, and continued good luck with your blog!

    1. You may want to check on LFS. I have the "official" answer from Richard, himself!

    2. I've reconsidered in the light of your hint to Texas Jack and I'm pretty sure I now have the right answer. However, in the interests of fair play I'll stick, not twist.

    3. I consider it fair to change or correct any response you wish prior to the contest deadline. It is at that time your entry counts.

  3. HI Justin,
Well done on the hit count. Done a promo (http://wargamesleadslifenstuff.blogspot.co.uk/2014/05/justin-tiime-for-mr-penwiths-competition.html) cos I just can't help myself :O(
I think the original set of rules TFL published was Le Feu Sacre back in about '02 or so, and, because I'm obviously going to win (I wish!) I'd like a PDF version of 'Chain of Command' please.

    1. Chris, you have ALL of the available pdfs from TFL? The above images are just listed to hide the hint and to show a small sample of what is available. Please let me know if there is a TFL pdf that you do not own, that you would like.

  6. Justin, after sleeping on it, I would like to change my answer to IABSM, but only if it doesn´t compromise my status as a gentleman. :)

    1. Not at all. :) I just want everyone to check it out for themselves and not assume the first guy who answered was right. :) I COULD have kept all the comments hidden until after, but I always like to read what other people have to say regarding wargaming.

  8. Well done Justin thats quite an achievement...i have duly added myself as a follower as your items are of interest and the competition is a bonus. I'm afraid Google have lost my picture attached to my profile so at the moment I must remain a mysterious sillhouette.
I've been a long-time Lardy for many years, and my first set was also the first TFL product I believe, namely I Ain't Been Shot Mum.
I think the only one I don't have is Kiss Me Hardy, so I would choose that one if I were a Lucky winner.

  9. Congrats on the 50,000. I hope this comp gets you some more exposure as you have some nice content. I think IABSM was the Lardies first publication and I'd like to give Dux Britaniarum a try if I get lucky enough to win.

    1. Thanks, Ferb! Welcome and I hope you comment on my future posts, too. I like Dux, a lot, but SAGA is what my club is currently playing...while I determinedly work on a Dux force.

  11. Many congrats, Justin.

I think the answer is "I ain't been shot, Mum" (IABSM).
In case that I win, a copy of "Through the Blood and the Mud" would be great.

All the best and good luck further on!

  13. Love the tash. That is worth 50,000 visitors on a battlefield alone. Well done with your jolly brood. You are almost half way to your first football team. Keep up the good work!

The answer is IABSM. Would like Dux Brit if I'm lucky.

  14. Unfortunately, due to work considerations, I had to shave my stach off, for the time being. It was a real beaut, too. I've gone with a Van Dyke and an Imperial, before, but I am not sure how to groom the next. Yes, my sons and I play games as often as we can. More on some of our terrain building once I get my camera working again.

Thank you for following and entering, good luck to you.
